Germany Boosts Security for Jewish and Israeli Institutions ━ The European Conservative

In response to the major Israeli strike on targets in Iran, Germany is stepping up security at Jewish and Israeli sites across the country.

Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU), speaking at the close of the Interior Ministers’ Conference in Bremerhaven, voiced support for Israel’s actions, calling them vital for the country’s security and survival.

Concerned the conflict could spread, federal and state interior ministers met before their planned conference to discuss how the increased tension in the Middle East might affect Germany. They agreed to increase security at Jewish and Israeli institutions as a precaution.

“We must be prepared in case the situation in the Middle East escalates further and poses a direct threat,” Dobrindt said.

Earlier in the day, Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil (SPD) urged all sides to avoid further escalation, emphasizing that protecting civilians must be the top priority and calling for every diplomatic effort to be made to stop the violence to spiral further and endanger the larger region.
