An anonymous letter from former and current employees of the World Economic Forum has accused long-time chairman Klaus Schwab of abuse of power and financial irregularities along with having a history of inappropriate behavior toward female employees.
Following the allegations, the organization has taken the drastic step of banning its founder from the WEF headquarters in Geneva.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Schwab is accused of financing private expenses—including luxury trips for his wife—with WEF funds, as well as telling employees to make large withdrawals of cash for him.
Schwab’s spokesman denied all allegations, calling them “a blatant lie” and part of a smear campaign.
